Cleaning made easy

Back when I was living with a couple of my friends, we had this electric kettle. I used it every single day and had seen these white patches cropping up all over the inner surfaces. Hard water stains, I thought and that was the extent of thought I put into that situation. Then one day, I came back from work to find this kettle looking all sparkling and shiny, almost as good as new. There is an immense joy you feel when things you have given up hope on, miraculously fix themselves and look clean. In that moment, I felt that.

Obviously, it wasn’t a miracle. My friend had cleaned it. With just vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice. It was as simple as that. And here I had been thinking, I was a great homemaker. This was an eye-opening incident. In more than one ways, as you can see. But just vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice! All it took was three simple ingredients that were almost always available at home. My mind was blown.

Since then, I have found out that this concoction can do a great many things. Clean all sorts of grimy surfaces in the kitchen or bathrooms, keep away spiders, kill bed bugs and the like. Pure magic. Right? So no need to buy all these harsh chemicals you get at the supermarket.

Postscript: Vinegar should not be used on a lot of surfaces like granite, marble or any other natural stone, waxed furniture, hardwood floors etc. So it will be good to check on Google before you wage a war with this miraculous solution.
