Be Smart about Hoarding

We are all hoarders, without a doubt. To what extent could vary, but we most certainly are. Maybe we are hardwired to hoard. We might regret it eventually, but still we believe, we absolutely cannot help it.

What we need is a checklist (or a filter) to acquire and give away possessions. Here’s a small one from us -

IS IT MEANINGFUL?
Does it tug at your heart in any which way; bring up an old memory, or a treasured association? Do you feel a connection with it? Then buy it or keep it!

SLEEP OVER IT
Before you finalize your decision, take a step back and give it some time. If you still want to do it the next morning, then it might be worthwhile. For most of your whims are subdued if you give them time.

IS ANYTHING OF HIGHER PRIORITY?
If yes, then buying this can wait. Or you need the space for something far more important and useful, then chuck this.

And then there’s always Marie Kondo and her Joy-Sparking test…
